Nemesis Cruise to Victory Over Freeze 60-0

SUNY-Maritime-The New York Nemesis continued their winning ways scoring 32 points in the first quarter en route to a 60-0 win over the winless Maine Freeze in National Women's Football Association (NWFA) action on Saturday night.
    Led by quarterback and offensive MVP, Val Halesworth 12-9-0-120-2 and another 16 yards on the ground with a score.  The Nemesis offense marched up and down the field against the injury riddled Maine Freeze defense.  Ximora Diaz continued her streak of scoring in every Nemesis game adding two touchdowns on the ground.  Other scoring for the Nemesis offense was provided by Val Monaco, 4 catches, 34 yards, 1 TD, Kate Slack, 2 catches 22 yards, 1 TD, Miriam Gable, 4 Carries, 27 yards, 1 TD, and Sandy Nesbitt, 1 catch, 22 yards along with 1 rush for 8 yards and a TD.  Rounding out the scoring for the Nemesis was a fantastic punt return for a TD by Jane Kobo's, Kobo's avoided several tackles en route to a 42 yard scamper for the score.
   The defense proved they were up to the task holding the Freeze to 54 yards in total offense.  Missy Marmorale, the defensive MVP, was a force all evening recording 6 tackles, 1 forced fumble, recovering a fumble and sacking Maine QB, Brooke Harris for a loss.  Lucy Oswald contributed 7 total tackles and had a sack.
    The Nemesis travel to Connecticut this weekend to play their Divisional rival, the Connecticut Crush.  The Nemesis shutout the Crush earlier in the season 35-0 and the Crush will be looking to avenge that loss, in a pivotal game for both teams.
